Project Big Horse will be
a fully documented restoration of a 1973 Mach I. This car was found in a
salvage yard with trees
growing
around it. It begins as little more than a shell and every part of the
car needs attention. It was originally equipped with an H-code Cleveland
and FMX transmission, but the entire drivetrain is missing. It is also
missing....well, it might be easier to list what it is not missing. It
has a good decklid, and two decent doors. The backlight can be used, as
well as the rear quarter glass. All of the window trim remains and is in
decent shape. The rear interior quarter panels are badly faded, but we
will attempt to salvage and reuse them.
The first order of
business was to strip the chassis. Next, a frame rail repair was done
prior to putting the car on a rotisserie. Once on the rotisserie, all
interior components were removed. |
