Step 1
Attach the side quarter flaps. They are about 3” wide and 25” long, part
of which fits on the inside of the car. They are sewn to the sides of
the top and fit to the curved section of the frame. Apply rubber cement
to the inside of the flap and the metal frame. When the cement is dry or
tacky, attach the flaps to the metal frame. You may have to make a few
small cuts on this flap so that it will shape itself to the frame. Punch
through the aligning holes so that the screws in the weatherstrip can be
attached to the curved frame. Reinstall the attaching nuts on the inside
of the frame. Roll up the side quarter-windows.
Step 2
Tack the wire on the welt trim to the rear bow. Start approximately 6”
from the folded edge of the deck seam and tack it flat against the rear
bow so that you can see the wire and small round beading facing
downward. Place tacks 1/4" above the round beading and approximately 1"
apart. Allow 6" of wire on the welt to extend beyond the folded edge of
the deck seam on the other side so that both sides are even. When
completely tacked, fold the large flat beading over the tacks and hammer
lightly for a smooth appearance. Attach wire on the tips over the ends
of the wire on the welt and secure with phillips screws. Reinstall the
well cover and the lower flap on the inside of car with flat head
phillips screws. |
